Minsk Report – June 28-29, 2018

Minsk is very clean and spacious city. We were a small team of 5 that arrived to pray in Minsk, 3 from Germany and 2 from France. The plan of action was quickly decided. Mass murder and the Jewish history had marked the history of Belarus.

So the first morning we went to Maly Troscianiec, a place in the forest just outside Minsk where the Nazis had killed 206 000 people with guns and pistols from 1941 to 1944, among these 150 000 Jews. Now, there was a new place of commemoration made and the presidents of Germany, Austria and the Czech Republic, amongst others, were coming for the inauguration the next day to recognize their respective nations’ guilt. ( So, it was very key to go and pray in this place. We didn’t know about this event before we planned the dates of the trip. We believe this is very important for the healing of the nations.

In the afternoon, we went to where the old Jewish ghetto was. We started by going into the synagogue there and to our surprise we were warmly welcomed by the rabbi who showed us around and shared with us about the synagogues and the Jews in the city. All this despite the busy program he had with the inauguration the day after.

From there we went up to the park and around the stones of commemoration sent from different German city of their recognition of the killing of the Jews sent from their cities to be executed in Minsk. The place was still heavy and oppressive. Minsk was once 50% Jewish and this place was definitely an important place to pray. It will probably need more prayers as well, but we were glad we could participate in bringing this place before the throne of God.

We took the bus direction north to a Jewish social center with a quick prayer of blessing there. Then we walked to an orthodox Jewish synagogue. We were welcomed in and had some prayers of blessings there as well. And the first day was finished.

The second day, we went to another place of mass murder, this time it was the Russians who has killed between 30,000 and 200,000 people. This was only 5-6 km from the center of Minsk on the north side, so we took the bus there. This place was not recognized by the Russians for the genocide and when we got there the police were there. They didn’t stop us, but they were reporting our arrival. It was an impressive place. There were crosses on both sides of a forest road maybe 800m long. There were also many smaller crosses in the forest around were thousands of skeletons were laying in the earth. This day was a day when a group, fighting for this place and its history to become known and recognized as a genocide place, had an event. They wanted to protest because there had been a restaurant built on the skulls. We joined in on this. There were only 20-25 people; people are afraid of Russia and repression. And the police were there to intimidate us and bring fear. The following day as an example of this, 3 of the people who had participated in the protest were put in prison for 10 days!!
When we had finished and went back to the bus stop, the polish ambassador came with his team to put down flowers as an act of commemorating and honoring the dead.

In the afternoon we went to the parliament, an impressive building from communist times with a big statue of Lenin in the front. We were not even allowed to get close to see what was written on the walls before the guard came to chase us away. So, we had to pray from a distance of about 100m. We prayed for a change and for the wall of separation between the people and the institution might fall down in particular. It feels like an empty and hollow place. We believe change is coming to the nation and prayed for the politics to favor that, like, for example, in the last 2 years, one doesn’t need a visa to visit Belarus for less than 5 days. It’s a beginning of opening up doors to come to this beautiful nation. Let it continue…..

Day One

We arrived in Mariehamn in the morning and disembarked. We were immediately met by 2 unexpected difficulties: the possibility that one teammate might have to cut his trip short because of difficulties at home, and the other was that the pastor couldn’t meet with us because he had to get his blood tested. So we began in worship, then launched right into prayer for both of these people and issues.

One of the group is a missionary, called to Åland, so we prayed for him, and one person saw a vision of the missionary planting a sword into the ground. We believed this to mean that God is establishing him and his family here by His Word. Psalm 118:15-17 was proclaimed for him:

Shouts of joy and victory resound in the tents of the righteous: “The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things! The Lord’s right hand is lifted high; the Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done.

Another person saw God’s glory come streaming in, unstoppable.

The Discussion

Shamanism, witchcraft, and yoga are issues in the Åland islands. The locals were not aware of any Nordic gods being worshiped, but a look at the tourist shops will reveal it because they will probably have figurines. So we proclaimed Matthew 13:43:

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.

Mariehamn was so named by Czar Alexander II for his wife. He was said to be a good czar. All of Finland (Åland included) was under Russian rule since 1917. Putin has a hunting cabin in Åland, but they say that he’s never been here. Åland is demilitarized, and Finland is not in NATO, being neutral.

Eighty different native tongues are spoken in Åland, most in Mariehamn. The island group enjoys a special deal with the EU for tax-free shopping. There is a saying: “Åland is the trigger to the pistol aimed at the heart of Sweden.”

Because we couldn’t meet with the pastor, who was going to give us a brief spiritual history of Åland, we couldn’t really do much of anything at the church. And we couldn’t check into our hostels until the afternoon. So we agreed that the best thing would be to go to the town history museum to teach ourselves something of the history. So we decided to walk around town, blessing the town and enjoying it (as in Jeremiah 29).

Prayer Walking

So we walked to the history museum, but it is closed for renovations until August. On the way, we had seen and noticed a ley line between the city hall and the mariner’s school. And this being a seafaring place, we decided that we could probably get the pertinent history at the Seafaring Museum.

So we went to the Seafaring Museum and walked through, learning something of the maritime history of Åland. Then we broke for lunch and to check into our hostels.

Addressing the Church

That night, Henning spoke to the church about Operation Capitals of Europe and introduced the team.

Day Two

We enjoyed a time of glorious worship, during which we were encouraged to praise God in our native languages. Afterward, we prayed to release an anointing of beauty, glory, and joy upon one of the worship leaders of the church who will bring God’s glory and beauty.

The Discussion

One person had dreamed of a resistant door, but with persistence it opened. This encouraged the pastor, who said that he had long been praying and battling with the “resistant door here in Åland. He has had this burden for Åland since 1982 when he fell out of bed one night and God told him to go hear Reinhardt Bonke speak. The resistant door was said to be the influence of Freemasonry witchcraft.

One local believer said that she was going to the Russian church meeting and asked for prayer. We prayed for her, and her appointment to go to the Russian church suddenly was canceled.

Prayer Walking

Praying in front of Town Hall

Praying in front of Town Hall

First we walked to the City Hall, which was noted to be the highest point in the eastern side of the city. We prayed and declared Psalm 24 in English and in Swedish:

The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for He founded it on the seas and established it on the waters. Who may ascend the mountain of the Lord? Who may stand in His Holy Place? The one who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not trust in an idol or swear by a false god. They will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God their Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek Him, who seek Your face, God of Jacob. Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in. Who is He, this King of Glory? The Lord Almighty—He is the King of Glory.

Then we declared Ezekiel 11:22-25, followed by 3 blasts on the shofar:

Then the cherubim, with the wheels beside them, spread their wings, and the glory of the God of Israel was above them. The glory of the Lord went up from within the city and stopped above the mountain east of it. The Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the exiles in Babylonia in the vision given by the Spirit of God. Then the vision I had seen went up from me, and I told the exiles everything the Lord had shown me.

Finally we went around the building, placing a stone at each of its 4 corners while declaring Isaiah 28:16

So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.

In front of statue of Mary

In front of statue of Mary

At the statue of Marie, for whom the city was named, it was noted that Russia had put the statue there on the 200th anniversary of Mariehamn, and that no other nations were represented at the celebration, only Russia.

We declared Mark 11:22-24:

“Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

And all the time one person had her hand firmly gripping the statue’s fan. At that declaration from Mark, she felt the statue shift violently as though dropping several inches.

After more prayers at the statue the shofar was blown and Isaiah 47:2-3 was declared:

Take millstones and grind flour; take off your veil. Lift up your skirts, bare your legs, and wade through the streams. Your nakedness will be exposed and your shame uncovered.

Then we walked to the Parliament building where we prayed and declared Isaiah 52:1-2; 9:6; and 11:1-5:

Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendor, Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again. Shake off your dust; rise up, sit enthroned, Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck, Daughter Zion, now a captive.

For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

A shoot will come up from the stump of Jesse; from his roots a Branch will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him—the Spirit of wisdom and of understanding, the Spirit of counsel and of might, the Spirit of the knowledge and fear of the Lord—and He will delight in the fear of the Lord. He will not judge by what He sees with His eyes, or decide by what He hears with His ears; but with righteousness He will judge the needy, with justice He will give decisions for the poor of the earth. He will strike the earth with the rod of His mouth; with the breath of His lips He will slay the wicked. Righteousness will be His belt and faithfulness the sash around His waist.

The Holy Spirit led one person to walk around the circle of flagpoles in a clockwise manner. There were 12 flagpoles, and as she walked, she felt like the Lord was saying that time is up for the unrighteous. Just as she got to the last flagpole, the shofar was blasted (none of which was planned in advance).

The architectural influence of Freemasonry was noted in the grounds of the government buildings as we walked to the entrance of the underground parking garage. There, under the government buildings we placed a stone in the foundation, declaring it a new cornerstone, and the shofar was blasted 3 times.

Back above ground again, we noted a fountain and a series of square gates. We prayed and worshiped at the fountain, then walked through the gates praying and worshiping in tongues.

We declared Jeremiah 2:13; Proverbs 3:5-6; and Genesis 22:18, to take the gates of the enemy:

My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken Me, the Spring of Living Water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Through your offspring all nations on earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed Me.

Then there was a final, triumphant shofar blast.

Then we walked to the office building where the president has his offices. It was noted that the president is not a Christian, but whenever he tries to bring in good reforms he meets with much resistance. We prayed to break all Freemasonry witchcraft off him, that he could be released from all spells and curses.

We noted that it is God who places people in office, so we prayed, blessing the president and declaring that those who dig a trip will fall into it.

We also prayed that the president would open the nation to allow the Jews to return to Israel. He is a key man who can make connections with rabbis and Russian Jews here in Åland. He must stand up to “Pharaoh” (evil Masonic death cult) for life and resurrection. Then the shofar was blown 3 times for healing.

From November 1st to 4th we started our prayer gathering in Madrid. We had 45-50 different participants involved over the 4 days. We met at On the Red Box prayer and evangelism room overlooking Puerta Del Sol at the very centre of Madrid. The city was outside our door. We appreciate the involvement and coordination of our time with Leo and Renee from YWAM Madrid and who are also coordinators of 365 a year-round national prayer initiative for Spain. Furthermore, we saw pastors from different churches in Madrid involved as well as 2 DTSs: one DTS from Torrejon de Ardoz (Madrid) and the other from Caceres. The leaders at the prayer room were also involved and we appreciate the care they showed to us in our time there. In the mornings, we prayed and worshipped together and then received teaching about the spiritual history of Spain and Madrid from Renee and Leo. Then in the afternoons the DTSs received teaching from myself on Intercession and Spiritual Warfare and then we went to the streets to pray at different strategic locations.

Our prayer times were spent praying for:
  • Puerta del Sol praying for forgiveness, purity and holiness – Interestingly, one man who stayed to watch us pray in the Puerta del Sol gave his life to Jesus while we were praying. He said his reason for doing this was he just wanted to be clean of all the things he had done wrong and he believed Jesus could forgive him.
  • Human trafficking and prostitution in central Madrid
  • The Local & National government buildings in Madrid
  • Economic well-being and unhealthy ties with colonial nations
  • The upcoming General Election
  • Statue of Cibeles & Communion/Worship Time
  • Cultural & Exposition Building

Prayer meeting with Hazte Oir & Citizen Go

A highlight of our time in Madrid was meeting with the Spanish and international political Conservative organization Hazte Oir and Citizen Go. This was a fruitful time praying with Catholic believers. It was also a chance to agree with other Christians who are impacting Government both in Madrid and around the world.

Praying over Toledo before entering the city

Praying over Toledo before entering the city

After our time in Madrid, we also spent a day praying at the old capital of Spain: Toledo. We partnered with the YWAM house of prayer there and I spoke on Humanism verses the Holy Spirit in Europe concerning the root of humanism in Toledo. This was followed by a powerful prayer time for a fresh move of the Holy Spirit in Toledo, Madrid and Europe. After lunch we felt God asking us to pray for the Holy Spirit and the root of humanism in Toledo and also for the history of Jewish persecution in Toledo. We went to the city and prayed, worshiped and danced across the bridge where the Jewish population was sent out hundreds of years previously. We also prayed at one of the locations it is believed some of Aristotle’s work was rediscovered, translated, and sent out through Europe to the world.

Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. (1 Corinthians 1:20-24)

Monaco Aug 4 :

View of the harbour

View of the harbour

Monaco is even smaller than Liechtenstein ; only about 2 km long and 1 km wide. It’s very densely populated though with 37 000 inhabitants like Liechtenstein.

Monaco has been ruled by the Grimaldi family since the “malicious one” took the Rock in 1297. But Monaco only became rich when the famous casino, Monte Carlo, started in the 1860’s. They earned so much money on the casino that Monaco didn’t need to claim any more taxes. And today it’s a famous tax haven. So in all this, there seems to be a bad foundation and injustices/iniquities, which you wouldn’t believe when you see this glamorous tiny nation.

the prince's palace

The Prince’s palace

We prayed into all this at the casino, the banks, the government, a couple of churches and in front of the prince’s palace. Praying for the church and the prince, we believe there are positive signs and good things happening for the Kingdom. We believe there is a renewal and we prayed it would continue in that direction.

Holocaust MemorialOct 23-28, 2012

We were welcomed to Moscow by our host who is a member of the Orthodox Church but met each day in a German Lutheran Church and were joined by various people from these two churches and also from the Catholic Church. This in itself was very significant as there is usually no contact between the different believers.

We were touched by the fact that they quickly came to trust us and shared from their hearts about their difficulties and challenges. This was precious because they admitted that they were used to living in denial concerning their suffering, particularly linked to the Soviet years, but with us they were able to talk and then to pray, thus allowing God to begin to touch and heal them.

They had prepared a very detailed timetable for us and we also had some things that God had put on our hearts, so by putting them together we were able to have four very full and very powerful days of prayer and worship together.

Gulag memoral plaque near Lubyanka squareThe first day we went out to Victory Park, a large park devoted to the victory over the Nazi regime in the Second World War. We had 4 German people among us, including the leader of our team, so we took a time in front of the holocaust memorial to confess sin and give and receive forgiveness.

On the second day we went a little outside the city to the site of a former Soviet gulag (concentration camp) where at least 20,000 people (and maybe as many as twice this number) were killed. The horrors of what happened here were difficult to hear and the people are still very marked by these things. We were able to have a deep prayer time here, praying for the healing of the land and the people and then sharing communion together.

Praying in the subwayThe next day saw us praying first in the subway deep under the city where many of the stations are still full of statues and mosaics glorifying Stalin and the Soviet regime, then at the Kremlin where we were able to pray concerning the current leadership of Russia.

Borovitskaya Tower and Kremlin ArmoryThe last day of prayer was devoted to the churches in the nation. We had a long time of repentance for the sins of the church and read out many passages of scripture, declaring God’s plan and vision for His Church. We had intended to go out and pray at several church buildings but God led us instead to remain indoors and go really deeply into this subject. In the evening however, we did go out to meet up with a group of people from a Pentecostal church whose building had been bulldozed just a few weeks earlier. We stood in the dark and freezing cold, on a muddy patch of ground next to where their building had stood and prayed with them and for them. We then took up an offering for them, thus sowing a prophetic seed for their future as a community.

St. Basil's CathedralSubway muralsOn our last day we made our way through snow and rain to share a meal with those who had joined us during the week. Prayers were said and hugs exchanged. We felt we had made a deep connection with them and they told us that although in the past some people had come to teach them, no-one had ever come to pray for them and they were obviously touched by this.

Since our return, we have had an e-mail from one person who joined with us which confirms this. This person thanks us, saying that she has never before experienced such deep and powerful prayer and that they plan to continue to pray for their city as we showed them. Wow!
